Know When to Step In

Delegieren braucht klare Grenzen und jemanden, der handelt.

Rehearse a workflow involving people and AI, define the limits of delegation and practise what happens when an exception requires human action.

Who it is for.

Project teams, educators, volunteers and people supervising AI-assisted work.

What to bring.

Bring a simple process description or use a supplied case. No working AI agent or technical setup is required.

What you take away.

  • A responsibility map connecting tasks, decisions and accountable human roles.
  • A delegation brief with boundaries, review points and escalation instructions.
  • A rehearsal log identifying gaps and changes needed before real use.

The challenge.

Delegation can leave responsibility unclear. Work through an AI-assisted process, such as preparing community-service information, and make the duties before, during and after an error explicit.

What you do.

  1. Map who requests the work, who performs it and who may approve or stop it. Identify decisions that must remain with a named human role.

  2. Define permission limits, evidence to retain and triggers for escalation. Specify what the person receiving an alert must do and how quickly the case requires attention.

  3. Run three exception scenarios, including a plausible wrong answer and an unavailable reviewer. Practise stopping the process, correcting the output and informing affected people.

Show what you have learned.

Respond to an unexpected case and show who can stop the work, who must act and how the decision is recorded.
