Check Before You Share

Eine überzeugende Antwort verdient eine gründliche Prüfung.

Investigate a plausible AI answer, trace its claims to sources and prepare a version that clearly separates evidence, uncertainty and opinion.

Who it is for.

Anyone using AI to learn, explain a topic or prepare information for others.

What to bring.

Bring a public, non-sensitive AI answer or use a supplied example. No specialist fact-checking experience is required.

What you take away.

  • A claim-and-evidence table recording sources, dates and unresolved questions.
  • A corrected brief that another reader can inspect and challenge.
  • A reusable checklist for deciding what to verify before sharing.

The challenge.

A polished answer can mix sound information with invented references, missing context or confident guesses. Practise deciding what you can responsibly pass on when a useful-looking summary contains claims you have not checked yourself.

What you do.

  1. Break a supplied AI answer into checkable claims. Identify which claims matter most to the reader and which need the strongest evidence.

  2. Trace three central claims to original sources. Check whether each source exists, says what is claimed and applies to the relevant date and context.

  3. Write a corrected brief with source links, visible uncertainty and a clear distinction between supported statements and your interpretation. Have a partner reproduce one check.

Show what you have learned.

Demonstrate one complete source check and explain why an unresolved claim should remain uncertain rather than be labelled true or false.
