The challenge.
A polished chart can make weak data look persuasive. How do you create a useful overview that helps people ask better questions and understand what the numbers actually represent?
What you do.
Define the decisions the dashboard should support. Inspect the spreadsheet and agree what each measure means, including units and missing values.
Use AI to build a small dashboard with a few purposeful views. Compare calculations against hand-checked examples and trace figures back to the input.
Test the dashboard with another participant and an updated sample file. Refine misleading labels, scales and messages, and document how to refresh it.
Show what you have learned.
Explain one measure without using the chart, reproduce a calculation and identify a conclusion the dashboard does not justify.
