Find a Better Question

Neue Möglichkeiten beginnen oft mit einer anderen Frage.

Look at one familiar problem from different perspectives and turn a fresh question into a small experiment worth trying.

Who it is for.

Learners, educators and people developing ideas for work or community life.

What to bring.

Bring a modest challenge and a few observations about it. A supplied case allows participation without access to a live project.

What you take away.

  • A map showing the original problem, alternative questions and their underlying assumptions.
  • Three distinct concept sketches rather than variations of the same solution.
  • A one-page experiment brief with a learning question and an observable signal.

The challenge.

The first definition of a problem often suggests a familiar answer. Explore how changing a question about learning, everyday life or a community project opens different possibilities.

What you do.

  1. Describe the challenge without proposing a solution. Separate observations from assumptions and map how it looks to at least three people affected by it.

  2. Develop several different questions through analogy, changed constraints and another person’s perspective. Generate your first ideas independently before optionally comparing them with AI suggestions.

  3. Select three genuinely different directions. Turn one into a low-cost experiment and ask someone else to identify what it would actually help you learn.

Show what you have learned.

Explain how your new question changes the possible answers, and identify one assumption the first experiment must test.
